LOOK FOR GOOD THINGS!

Take a look at the HAPPIEST people you know and you will notice something.
They haven't had the EASIEST lives!
Happy people have usually suffered and struggled MORE than most.
But in the process, they have learned to look for GOOD THINGS in life.

And have you noticed this ...
When we look for good things in situations - or people - we FIND them.
When we look for bad things, we FIND them.

So it's not changing your situation that makes you happier.
It's changing your THINKING!

If you go looking for faults in your job or your mother or your wife, you will find plenty.
Some people spend their life looking for faults -
and then they tell you, "I'm just being REALISTIC!"
It is not realistic!
It is NEGATIVE!

Happy people continually ask themselves,
"What is good about this situation?"

EXAMPLE: You are stuck in traffic. You ask yourself, "What's GOOD about it?"
* You have time to listen to your favourite CD's.
* You can plan your day.
* It's better than walking!

EXAMPLE: You are short of money. You ask, "What's GOOD about having no cash?"
* You learn to appreciate things that money can't buy.
* You become more determined to succeed.
* You find out who your friends are!

You might say, "That's nuts! It's kidding myself."
Not so!

Looking for good things is a key to happiness.

So your mission for the next 24 hours?
In every situation, look for GOOD THINGS.

It may be hard at first, but it becomes automatic.
As "looking for positives" becomes a habit,
you will become happier and happier.

好句分享!

别害怕伤心,应该庆幸自己对生命还有感觉;

Companion Animal Biology

Coprophagy: Rabbit eats night feces.
Dark chocolate: 1.5 lbs can kill a puppy.
Onion ring: contains alkyloid, don't feed animal.
Raw eggs: Egg white contains avidin, which bind to Biotin, results in a deficiency of Biotin in animal.
Taurine: Essential in every cat's meal.
Gait: Repeated manner of movement of feet.
Snake: Do not have nutritional problem since they only eat mouse and mouse provides everything they need.
Why is bird light?
  1. No teeth, therefore no jaw muscles.
  2. Thin skin, no fat, use feather as insulator.
  3. Pneumatic bones.
  4. Light bones, less bone.
Type of diseases:
  1. Rabies: no symptom, when sympton shows, die.
  2. Newcastle: By inhalation, affect birds.
  3. WEE: Show symptom in horse and human. Mosquito bites horse, then bite human.
  4. Salmonollesis: By ingestion, cause stomach flu and diarrhea.
  5. Cat scratch fever: Swollen limbs. Must take care of hygiene.
  6. Toxoplasmosis: Mama eat cat's feces which contains protozoan's egg, affect baby, baby has brain damage.
  7. Ringworm: not worm but fungi, cause a circular and itchy spot on body.
  8. ......
How much should you feed a fish: How much they can consume in 3-5 minutes.
How much does a termometer cost: $1 for alchohol type.
Passove immunity: puppy drinks mom's milk, acquires mom's immunity, but loses ability to build own immunity.
Bird cage: must be horizontal and have at least 2 perches.
Dog: pull back lips, submissive; pull forward lips, aggression.
Shagua: People who are reading this. :P

不爽不爽不爽! 为什么戴巍峙有president's day 假期?很巴毕咩?不过,这也证明了戴巍峙的人比较懒惰!:P :P :P

Chemistry review

Chapter 14: Solution
Henry's Law: C = k P, where c is solubility, k is constant and P is pressure. Therefore, if pressure of solution increase, solubility increase.
Osmotic pressure = iMRT, where i is Van't Hoff's factor, M is molarity, R is 0.08206 and T is temperature in Kelvin.
Raoult's Law: Vapor pressure, PA = XA PA*, if add solutes to solution, vapor pressure decreases.
Freezing point depression: delta T = -KfM
Boiling point elevation: delta T = KbM

Chapter 16: Chemical Equlibrium
Kp = Kc (RT)^delta n
If Qc = 0 : equlibrium
If Qc < 0 : too much reactant, move to right
If Qc > 0 : too much product, move to left

Chapter 17: Acids and Bases
Kw = [H3O+][OH-] = KaKb = 1.0 x 10^(-14)
pH = -log[H3O+]
pOH = -log[OH-]
pKw = pH + pOH = 14

The stronger an acid, the weaker its conjugate base.
Eg: HF is acidic, therefore its conjugate ion, F- is basic.
Note: ion of strong acid and base is neutral.
Eg: Na+ is neutral (Bacause NaOH is strong base).

What makes an ion more acidic?
1. If conjugate is delocalized - more stable - ion more acidic.
2. More eletronegative - more stable - more stable.
3. Have a resonance structure - more delocalized - more stable.

Lewis theory:
Acid: electron pair acceptor
Base: electron pair donor

Wah.. i finish reading 3 chapters already!! :D Tmr is presidential day holiday! Can do practice tests.. good luck to everyone!! Jia you!!
